First Post and SEC Power Poll

I haven't really figured out what I want to do with this just yet. Likely I'll just use it as a journal to write whatever I'm thinking or what I enjoy. In the meantime, I'm going to cross post my SEC Power Poll Ballot from Save The Shield for Team Speed Kills. Here's this week's (SEC Week 8 Power Poll final results are here @ Team Speed Kills):

1. Alabama
Can we all take a moment to thank Terrence Cody. If he doesn't block that kick we A) have to put up with UT fans at a level of unsufferability last seen when Peyton was conducting Rocky Top and B) don't get the undefeated SEC title matchup the refs have worked so hard for.

2. Florida
Can you not say Shibboleth? These scant margins are mere tests for Harris Poll voters, as merely a mustard seed of faith will be sufficient to move the chains enough to beat Alabama and Texas (Urban 17:20).

3. LSU
That LSU is the SEC's third best is not in doubt. What is more uncertain is if they're closer to Alabama and Florida or the pack.

4. South Carolina
Steve Spurrier's visor is missing a few specks of sweat after avoiding a third straight loss to Bobby Johnson's Commodores in a game that was closer than it should have been (and may have been tainted by the replay official).

5. Kentucky
Despite the loss of Mike Hartline and stellar performances from Randall Cobb, Kentu--- OMG is John Wall INELIGIBLE?!?! Cousins is OK, right? Don't worry Sandy Bell is the best. Deep breaths. Deep breaths. Sandy Bell.

6. Tennessee
If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, does the SEC turning into whine country mean Boy Blunder was right all along (at least in his strategy of controversy)?

7. Ole Miss
All returned to order as Jevan threw two picks and Ole Miss rolled nonetheless.

8. Arkansas
You've got some problems when you win the the turnover margin by +3 and still get your rear kicked.

9. Georgia
Since 2008 there's been a clear decline in the team's performance. Two things that happened then: Uga VII took over and Mike Vick left the state. So is the problem genetic or motivational?

10. Auburn
Suddenly Tony Franklin isn't calling his former players asking for a copy of Guz Malzahn's spread formation playbook anymore.

11. Mississippi State
The record may be 3-5, but Dan Mullen has announced his presence in Starkville and the rest of the SEC, including Mike Slive, is taking notice.

12. Vanderbilt
The 'Dores can't get any attention or real outrage going over getting screwed by the officials. Even after explaining the calls were wrong, the ESPNU announcers shrugged and said "Meh."
